EBC Continues to Offer New Solutions...

Due to the growing concern of identify theft and state laws prohibiting the use of social security numbers as an identification number, EBC will be transitioning all of our clients to a unique identification numbering convention. We have created an automated process in which our claims system will assign unique ID numbers to each of our members. For those clients already using unique identifiers, we will only transition new hires to the new automated numbering convention and current plan members will retain their existing member ID.

This process will require new member ID cards. As part of this initiative, we are excited to announce our partnership with a healthcare company called RedCard Systems. RedCard has created a simplified, but highly flexible healthcare ID card. The card is a durable, plastic laminate card, processed in color with all the information well organized and set up to provide relevant plan information for your employee. The format also allows any provider of service (doctor office, hospital, pharmacy, etc) to easily find and utilize pertinent information when your employee goes in for care.

In addition, the card content is customizable to accommodate your plan variations or changes very easily. By partnering with RedCard, we are able to offer you and your employees the best Healthcare ID card on the market today, while participating in a "co-op" with other health plans nationally to drive down the cost of healthcare administration and make provider/patient interactions easier. Our standard fee for this service will be $1.00 per card plus postage.

We are in the process of assigning the unique ID numbers and generating member cards as well as notification to vendors. Your marketing account representative will be in contact with you regarding this project and a proof of the new card will be provided for your review prior to printing. Throughout this transition, both the old and new cards will work when presented to a provider or pharmacy, and there will be no disruption in service.

If you have any questions your marketing account representative can assist you, or e-mail questions to marketing@ebctpa.com.
